Chapter
7
What is God's worldview of you?
....what makes God smile?, ....a changed heart, seeking Him

I've never seen a full-circle rainbow before. But God sees it all the time. ....Amazing, isn't it! ....The above photo illustrates a basic truth about our human perspective here on earth, ....we do not see everything or know everything. ....Ah, but God does! And that's the reason we trust Him to guide us through life, ....helping us make good choices now, ....and leading us to our future home in Eternity with Him.
Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then (when in Eternity with our Lord) we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then (IN HEAVEN) I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
— 1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT

So, ....what is God's worldview of you?
Thinking about the question, ....we can only answer it through the filters of our own personal worldview. Each person's answer reflects their "personal heartfelt and mental framework for living", ....those "beliefs and values by which we make decisions".

....Whatever your answer to the question about "God's worldview of you", it is influenced by your answer to the next question....
What is your worldview about prayer?

The most basic definition of "prayer" is "talking with God". ....In every person's uniqueness, prayer expresses their personal worldview ....of Who God IS to them ....in tones, attitudes, and words ....revealing their heart's condition in life's circumstances. ....And God knows all of that, ....knows us. He loves us....
O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in all of heaven above or on the earth below. You keep your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before you in wholehearted devotion.
— 1 Kings 8:23 NLT
In prayer, we are talking with our Creator. ....The One Who loves us so much ....He died on a cross and three days later arose from the grave in victory over death ....to GIVE US SPIRIT LIFE IN HIMSELF now ....and for Eternity.

This is "Who" we are talking with in prayer, ....so we cannot allow our prayers to become spiritless, egocentric, platitudinous, or repetitious. ....Just talk with God from a transparent, honest heart....
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
— Psalm 27:8 NLT

So, let's question ourselves for a moment.
Think about the tone of our prayers? Attitude? The words we use? How might words reflect our heart's condition in life's challenges? And when it comes to us humans having relationships, sometimes our weaknesses and vulnerabilities get in the way of intimacy. So,....... sometimes we have ....fear of rejection, ....fear of failure, ....or fear of death.

....And this brings us back to this chapter's question....

What is God's worldview of you?
In Scripture, God makes Himself known, telling us things which otherwise could never be known. ....So, let's hear answers directly from His Word, as our primary source of truth. For example....
Even before he made the world, GOD LOVED US and CHOSE US IN CHRIST to BE HOLY AND WITHOUT FAULT IN HIS EYES. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
— Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT
....and....
The LORD your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With his love, he will calm all your fears.
He will REJOICE OVER YOU WITH JOYFUL SONGS.
— Zephaniah3:17 NLT
From a loving Savior, Lord & Friend ....WHO SINGS OVER US, ....we have no fear of rejection. ....No fear of failure. ....No fear of death. ....And He loves us in spite of our weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Wow!

So, ....why is God rejoicing over you?
Such enthusiastic expression would be important to understand. Yes? ....For me, it brings to mind more questions....

In every person's uniqueness in personality, history, and circumstances, ....I'm wondering if we know what gives God joy and a smile? ....Isn't it a changed heart? When our hearts desire to seek Him more? When we want to be more like Jesus?
For sure He smiles when we look like this....

Family and Friends,
....we're into some deep thinking here about our worldviews. Maybe we've never even thought about "What gives God joy and a smile?" .......We certainly need to know more about God to even begin answering the question.
And maybe that is our answer. We need more of God in our lives, ....because knowing God changes our hearts (feelings) and minds (thinking), ....changes our lives. As God declared....
"This is the new covenant I will make
with my people on that day (when Jesus lives in our hearts), says the Lord:
I will put my laws (TRUTHS) in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds."
— Hebrews 10:16 NLT

Sounds like the Lord God Himself wants to help His people build their worldview. How does He do that? .......It probably starts with us listening, trusting, and obeying His voice.

God wants to help build our worldview
If God is helping us build our worldview, ....then He is showing us "Who He IS", ...."who we are", ....and how much He loves us!

To know "Who God IS", you must read His Word.
It is God's self-disclosure of Who He is, ....telling you things about living with Him which otherwise could never be known.
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. ....For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth BY MEANS OF CHRIST'S BLOOD ON THE CROSS.
— Colossians 1:15-16,19-20 NLT

....and....
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
— Psalm 139:17-18 NLT
....and....
For more, see Chapter 19: The Bible is God's love letter to us

To know "who you are", see yourself in God's Word
Know God loves you and wants to be your Savior, Lord and Friend! As you read His Word, ....respond in agreement from your heart and mind.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
— 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT
....and "Whose we are"....
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We received all of this by coming to know him.... ....He has given us great and precious promises (TRUTHS) ....that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
In view of all this, make every effort to RESPOND TO GOD'S (TRUTHS). ....The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
— 2 Peter 1:3-5,8 NLT
....and....
For more on God's TRUTHS, see Chapter 18: What does God's TRUTH look like?

....for us to know more, ....seems we need to be reading God's Word.

So, what makes God smile?
....a changed heart, ....seeking Him....
