Come join me on a Quest
....to know God more, experience seeking Him together

A friend once told me "a journey is traveling from one place to another. While a 'Quest' is a journey with a passionate purpose or goal ....in which you are changed, an experience from which you are never the same again."
Our "Quest" in these pages is to know God more. To experience seeking Him together, ....for we will find Him. Knowing God changes your heart (feelings) and mind (thinking), ....changes your life.

My Quest
....is in the writing of this website for you. In the thinking about it, ....Jesus and I will have many conversations, ....and I will never be the same again. I'm on this journey to know Him more.

Your Quest
....should you join us, is to hangout with Jesus on this journey ....talking with Him as you read and think about chapter topics. Do so, ....and you will never be the same again, because ....what the Lord said through Jeremiah is still ours today....
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD...."
— Jeremiah 29:11-14 NLT
So, let our Quest begin....

What's a worldview?
From the online Oxford Reference Dictionary...
"Worldview" is "a largely unconscious but generally coherent set of presuppositions and beliefs that every person has which shape how we make sense of the world and everything in it. This in turn influences such things as how we see ourselves as individuals, how we interpret our role in society, how we deal with social issues, and what we regard as truth."
SYNONYMS for "worldview" include: mindset, perspective, viewpoint, frame of reference. It is the "background influence" from which we make choices in life.
....Yes, we have much to talk about. SMILE.

Everyone has a worldview, whether or not they have thought about it. It is each person's heartfelt and mental framework for living, ....including their values, morals, attitudes, knowledge, perspectives, opinions, bias, etc. It is the foundation of personal beliefs and values by which we make decisions.

Perhaps most people — so busy with daily life — may not have even thought much about having a worldview, or how theirs is being created, shaped, ....or complicated ....by choices they make each day. ....Or, maybe they have just not articulated what guides them through a day of opportunities, challenges, difficulties, ....life's "stuff".

Welcome!

This website started in 2023 as a few emails to my grandchildren about knowing their Biblical worldview. All wonderful kids, ....today they range in ages from teenagers, ....and 20s young adults, ....to 30s married with children. Love them all.
Sent those emails to them in early December 2023, as a heart-to-heart conversation with Grandpa. ....Then a few days later on December 14, 2023, my wife Maggie and I had a "God-Moment" ....when angels drove our car around an on-coming semi truck, ....saving us from what would have been certain death. See chapter 15 for the story.

Well, ....talking with God about that miracle, ....He nudged me with a "suggestion" that I was not finished, and should write those emails into this website as an Online Book. Being online would make it easier for the grandkids to find them, ....whenever they might need them. ....So okay, Lord, let's do it.

.......Thankfully, our Quest now includes you. By whatever means you arrived here, ....might seem God wants to talk with you too. SMILE.... Glad you are with us. This is going to be a great journey together ....with Jesus.
Three basic issues we'll discuss....
To let you know where our journey is going, here's what we'll be talking about...

As you think about your worldview ....and describe it for yourself, ....it might help you understand why you make some choices, what you value, ....even understand yourself better. ....Knowing your worldview, prepares you to better handle life's "surprise" challenges ....for there may be a few. SMILE....

You are not growing up in a neutral world. Spiritual battles abound in the supernatural realm between Good and Evil, ....both seeking to influence your worldview. As we progress through these pages, watch for and understand how spiritual warfare may try to influence your worldview, ....and the choices you make.

We build a "Read > Relate > Respond + Prayer" Bible study approach to help nurture our worldview. See details in the Viewing Notes below.
In considering these issues, ....some advice from this old Grandpa. "Stay focused on Jesus ....as your Savior, Lord, and Friend." Trust Him to help you make good choices. And when you are not sure what to do, then....
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
— Psalm 27:8 NLT

What's my worldview?

Good question. ....And you should ask, because it influences what I write here. The short answer, ....my worldview is "literal" Biblical. What the Bible "says" is TRUTH, and should be understood in context and with cross-reference to other relevant scriptures.

Bible TRUTHS are authored by God Himself. They were written to guide us, ....teach us in our personal relationship with Him ....and with others. In the Scriptures, we learn to trust God's amazing love and to follow Him. ....From Creator God, we learn how to live ....and make good/right choices. ....The Bible is my compass in life!
My life verse was chosen back in 1970s, ....and still my life verse today....
"However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace."
— Acts 20:24 NIV
My name is Roger, an 80-ish Grandpa, ....and "Super Roger" to four great-grandsons (got the T-shirt for Christmas). SMILE. ....My life-long Quest is to know God more ....and share what I learn with you. ....Apparently, it is well known by my friends that I need all the help I can get. SMILE, ....so I memorized this verse....
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”
— Psalm 27:8 NLT
Yes, ....this is going to be a great Quest! Thanks for joining me....

Be aware of the "Google Effect"
The "Google Effect" — also known as "digital amnesia" — refers to the tendency of people to forget information they can easily find online, as they rely on the Internet as a memory aid ....instead of retaining the information themselves. For more, just "google it". SMILE....
Why is this important? A Quest to know God more ....is more than online searches ....for quick information hits. Nothing replaces you digging into God's Word yourself ....to KNOW FOR YOURSELF ....your Biblical worldview, ....SO YOU CAN OWN IT.

Reverence for the Eternal, the one True God, is the beginning of wisdom; true knowledge of the Holy One is the start of understanding.
— Proverbs 9:10 The Voice
